  • What you'll do

    Billtrust is adding a Lead Systems Support Engineer to join our talented “eOps” team charged with monitoring, supporting and reporting on all electronic operations and applications to guarantee reliability and availability for our Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platforms. You will be heavily involved in software deployments from beginning to end and the related infrastructure. You will provide exceptional support and communications to a variety of internal teams in the troubleshooting and analysis of technical issues affecting customer-facing solutions.


    • Monitor applications and system performance in production environments
    • Own production deployments and interact with Dev, Quality & DevOps to coordinate efforts and proactively address issues
    • Respond to and troubleshoot complex issues related to application performance and reliability
    • Write SQL to fix application data issues
    • Automate tasks and create efficiencies by writing scripts in Python or similar
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for internal production issues
    • Work with the systems/network engineering teams to resolve complex issues within specific service level agreement times

    What you'll bring to the team

    • 8+ years of proven success in a fast-paced 24x7 production environment
    • Strong ability to monitor application and system performance to ensure reliability and availability, utilizing tools like Nagios, DataDog or similar
    • Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting complex technical issues
    • Solid understanding of supporting applications in a hybrid Windows/Linux environment
    • Proven ability to build and deploy software packages using Jenkins, Octopus, AWS CodeDeploy or similar
    • Ability to write and execute SQL scripts
    • Experience monitoring and investigating issues within CloudWatch, AppDynamics or similar
    • Demonstrated ability to script in Python or a similar language
    • Experience using configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet
    • Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business including peers, technical management, customers and/or external vendors
    • Experience in a SaaS, software, product-centric or payments business nice-to-have
    • Bachelor degree in Computer Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
    • Flexibility to be a part of a rotational on-call schedule as an escalation point
