  • What you'll do

    • Responsible for evaluation, policies, procedures related to the AML Compliance program and AML sanctions laws/regulations.
    • Collaborate closely with technology, finance and payments operations on the implementation and management of effective policies and processes for the performance of KYC and AML monitoring, and ensure that compliance responsibilities are incorporated into business processes and practices
    • Monitor processes and programs designed to detect, investigate, and report potentially suspicious transactions, money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, and other possible violations of laws, regulations, policies, and/or procedures. Maintain and implement anti-fraud controls and monitor transactions, returns, chargebacks and other anti-fraud/AML metrics
    • Perform enhanced due diligence on customers including database searches, review customer records, identification metrics, beneficial ownership, credit and reference checks, and account activity to ensure the customer fits within the AML risk profile and to ensure proper risk identification and applicable customer risk rating
    • Monitoring, investigating, and documenting OFAC, SDN and sanctions screening process
    • Develop and implement programs, policies and procedures related to customer onboarding, customer risk rankings, and KYC to ensure activities are being performed in accordance with policies and procedures and best practices, including testing, validation and documentation of controls, and identification and recommendation of improvements as deemed necessary
    • Develop and update the compliance training curriculum and provide compliance training, and monitor industry developments.
    • Support Company audit process and support preparation of audit responses for bank, processor, association (Card and ACH), and regulatory audits, including monitoring the completion commitments/corrective actions. Handle audit preparation, gap analysis, and remediation process.  Identify and evaluate technology solutions for use in supporting onboarding, KYC, and AML compliance to achieve compliance with audit and regulatory expectations

    What you'll bring to the team

    • Prior experience as compliance specialist at a financial institution, processor or other payments provider required
    • Robust understanding of the requirements of the Anti-Money Laundering regulations, USA Patriot Act, BSA, KYC, and OFAC as they relate to payment transaction monitoring and practical application and all other laws, regulations, and requirements designed to establish processes to detect and prevent money laundering, fraud, and terrorist financing
    • Experience and knowledge of payment rules and regulations and best practices including Credit/Debit card rules and regulations, NACHA regulations, Payment Facilitator model,  processor/gateway relationships and requirements
    • Must be proactive self-starter with strong problem-solving, leadership, advocacy, management, communication, facilitation, team building and analytical skills
    • Ability to be proactive (e.g., predictive of issues), reactive and persuasive
    • Excellent consultative skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships through the various business units and departments
    • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written and oral communication skills, superior internal and external customer service skills
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Compliance or other related discipline, with 5+ years’ experience in financial services/payments, primarily in a compliance role
    • Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) Certification strongly preferred
