  • What you'll do

    Billtrust is looking for an experienced payments industry professional with a demonstrated record of accomplishment creating value by driving growth in integrated payment acceptance within the enterprise software market. The individual in this role will have p&l responsibility for the expanding set of integrated payments offerings within Billtrust. The role directly oversees a team of 8 to 10 professionals charged with sales to new logos and existing customers, payment operations, compliance, underwriting, relationship/vendor management. This is a critical area of strategic growth for Billtrust, and as a result, this role reports directly to the company President.


    • Responsibility for financial performance of the company’s integrated payments offering growth and profitability
    • Must be able and comfortable with communicating at both a detailed and executive level for strategic and tactical items
    • Oversee payments operations team responsible for underwriting, funding, second-level customer support, pricing, client implementation and boarding
    • Responsible for risk management, regulatory and industry compliance functions managed directly by payments team as well as via close coordination with broader Billtrust compliance and legal group
    • Develop sales and implementation processes to accelerate capture of new business and revenue recognition
    • Manage dedicated payment sales team to achieve specific targets for new customers acquired, penetration into existing customer base, payment volume and resultant revenue targets
    • Develop external (e.g. pricing and terms) and internal (team incentives, commission structures) policies and metrics to manage business line for growth and profit
    • Collaborate closely with marketing organization to execute regular campaigns to all relevant audiences and report on results of same
    • Coordinate closely with product management organization to ensure high quality delivery of services, tight integration, documented product features, and exert influence on roadmap to support business objectives
    • Manage third-party vendors providing technology platforms, payment processing, gateway solutions, and industry/regulatory compliance
    • Keep abreast of industry and regulatory trends to identify opportunities and risk

    What you'll bring to the team

    • Integrate data analytics, product metrics, user experience research, competitive and market analysis, and company goals to drive prioritization of business initiatives
    • 8+ years of payments experience with a significant portion in integrated software – payment offerings
    • Ability to think strategically and develop roadmap for products and services
    • Ability to deliver flawless products and integrated customer experience
    • Experience bringing together and building cross functional delivery teams
    • Ability to solve complex problems and develop solutions and communicate to the organization in an actionable manner
    • Ability to develop business cases with operational and financial metrics to justify projects
    • Ability to analyze product operational, marketing, and financial data and develop programs that enhance profitability
    • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities
    • Ability to clearly communicate at all levels of the organization, including executive management
    • Strong leadership, communication, and prioritization skills
    • Strong grasp of new technologies, competitive landscapes, marketplace, and the banking/payments regulatory environments
    • Experience with agile product development techniques and continuous integration philosophies and practices for speed to market is a plus
    • Bachelors degree required; MBA preferred
