    What you'll do

    Billtrust is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to design and execute test automation scripts for our SaaS Payments platform. As the leader in Payment Cycle Management, you will help this team break new ground for a modern payments infrastructure while testing highly-scalable, transactional APIs. You will collaborate and influence across our Agile team, working closely with Development, Product, DevOps and other teams to automate testing wherever possible. You will serve as a customer advocate by helping drive the software development process toward quality-centric methodologies as we create new services around credit card and bank networks.


    • Work with an Agile team to deliver best-in-class technical solutions for our platform and services
    • Utilize automation for deploying and running test suites, with a focus on APIs and the database
    • Collaborate with Development to ensure quality unit test coverage
    • Create and run SQL queries to validate database integrations

    What you'll bring to the team

    • An attitude where no technical challenge is too great
    • Strong ability to create test automation - 2+ years in a Test Automation Engineer or Software Engineer in Test capacity ideal
    • Ability to validate API functionality using automated tools, such as Postman
    • Proficiency in database validation and an ability to write SQL queries
    • Solid understanding of relational databases, such as MySQL
    • Proven ability to write automation to verify data structures, data formats, and data values
    • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain code repositories, preferably using Git
    • Experience working on Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a platform
    • Experience with Agile/SCRUM processes and techniques
    • Experience with NACHA, credit card and/or banking networks, or experience in the FinTech industry preferred
    • Ability to communicate and collaborate cross-functionally, and work well with a team-oriented environment
    • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
