What you'll do

The Director of Solutions Marketing is responsible for go-to-market strategies and sales effectiveness in priority market segments and industry verticals. Reporting to the CMO, you will develop a marketing strategy, define solution offerings, build and support the execution of specific marketing plans with the broader Marketing team, and assist Sales and Partner teams in driving growth in key markets. The Solutions Marketing team actively works across the organization to ensure alignment on segment and vertical strategies, goals and execution.


This position has both upstream and downstream strategic marketing responsibilities, including engagement with thought leaders, developing positioning, and supporting the planning and execution of content and programs along the buyer and customer journeys. You will will lead cross-functional efforts within the company, fostering strong peer relationships with Sales, Product Management, Business Development, Professional Services, and key customers and prospects. You will leverage internal resources for advocacy and vertical-specific marketing programs. Engagement with and leverage of industry influencers, customers and partners are also critical success factors.


Key deliverables include solution definition and positioning, supporting content, sales enablement tools, customer stories, competitive and market analyses.


  • Develop and continually refine data-driven go-to-market plans for growth in priority verticals aligned with corporate imperatives
  • Own the discipline and decision criteria for identifying and prioritizing new vertical market opportunities
  • Craft market-validated, vertical-specific value propositions, competitive positioning, key messaging; and develop supporting sales tools that maximize sales productivity and effectiveness
  • Create and optimize a compelling, competitive solution set that may include, product, services and/or third-party offerings; ensuring consistent, repeatable, successful marketing, sales and delivery
  • Enable the Sales organization to be effective selling into priority vertical accounts
  • Inform and guide Revenue Marketing programs with vertical-specific domain expertise and content to achieve segment and vertical new bookings goals
  • Lead industry and competitive intelligence gathering, market research and voice of customer analysis to gain understanding of segment, industry, buying cycle and persona dynamics. Convert market knowledge into actionable recommendations
  • Engage with Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing and Client Success teams to understand and address prospect and customer needs, competitive dynamics, macroeconomic trends, and emerging technologies
  • With the Director of Product Marketing, lead and continually optimize the company’s go-to-market disciplines to ensure cross-organizational alignment on offering definition, operations and rollout

What you'll bring to the team

  • Prior product or industry marketing experience is required – 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Ability to serve in a cross-functional leadership and orchestrator capacity as a self-driven individual contributor
  • Thrives in entrepreneurial environments with flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances
  • Proven ability to participate in the definition, optimization and scaling of repeatable disciplines and best practices
  • Proficient at converting strategies to marketing tactics; linking corporate strategic goals to tangible marketing programs; identifying implementation tasks from management strategic guidance
  • Demonstrated strategic marketing experience – market development, growth, and/or acquisition experience
  • Resourceful when faced with challenges that defy easy solution; utilizing internal and external resources to advance strategies and initiatives when faced with objections; cobbling together customer-centric solutions in an agile manner when alternative approaches may fall short; proven ability to find unique sources of execution
  • Skilled at taking initiative; exploiting openings in dialogue; asking difficult questions; leading group discussion, decision and action
  • 3+ years of people management experience
  • Exceptional written and presentation communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
